It was built in 1482 by Sitti Hatun who was the daughter of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror and Suleyman Bey. As it is understood from the historical sources, a mosque was built in a part of the palace which was standing until 1743.

The mosque is also known as Sitti Shah Sultan Mosque, Sitti Sultan Mosque and Hatuniye Mosque. It was repaired in 1980s and 1990s. The building has three foundations dated 1520, 1530, 1574.

In the foundation dated 1530, the villages of Kashop and Kratoya; In the foundation dated 1573-1574, In addition to the aforementioned two villages, it is stated that Depeli Village was built to this mosque.
