Şah Melek Mosque, the new Gazi Mihal Bridge in the direction of Edirne and north of the mosque was made in 1429. It is a single domed structure made of cut stone.
The stone gate is worth seeing at the gate, and the interior walls are covered with rumi border hexagonal tile panels. In places, it is decorated with tiled plaster mihrab, octagonal passages, geometry borders and rumi motifs.
It is known that there was a madrasah at the site where the Şahmelek Mosque was located, and Molla Hüsrev, a famous lawyer, was a professor here. The mosque was built by Musa Çelebi’s Veziriazam, Blind Şah Melek Paşa. The minaret of the mosque was destroyed during the Balkan War and then rebuilt.
