Taking historical evaluations into account, Karaağaç Campus is the perfect place for the monument.

The construction work started on March 29, 1998 as a result of the intensive project work by Trakya University, delegates from İnönü Foundation and a project team of 14 people.

The monument and the museum were opened by the former President Süleyman Demirel in 1998. Lausanne monument, reinforced with 3 corbels.

The first column is 36.45 m. tall, symbolizing Anatolia, the second column is 31,95 m. tall, symbolizing Thrace and the third column is 17.45 m. tall, symbolizing Karağaç.

The young girl figure, which is 4.20 m tall, symbolizes aesthetics, elegance and law. The pigeon in one hand of the young girl figure, symbolizes peace and democracy, and the document in her other hand, symbolizes the Treaty of Lausenne.
